I don’t ever write reviews, but this game deserves one. I saw this game getting advertised and I’d played games by chillyroom before so I figured I should try this out. That was a mistake. The storyline is ok but then I spawn in and I’m some orb who needs to collect energy to make bombs? I was immediately confused; it played like it was a chimera abomination crossed between Pac-Man and an rpg game. The enemies out-smarted me, were faster then me, and if they didn’t die to one hit I had to run around them and dodge until I could make it to the exit. The only reason I’m giving five stars is because it challenged to be confused until bit by bit I figured it out. I may have lost brain cells as a sacrifice, however.

Soul Knight is one of my favorite games out there, so naturally I had to download Dungeon of Weirdos to see what other great game ChillyRoom had been working on. I am not disappointed. It took a little getting used to because I had no idea what was going on, but once I finally figured it out, it was a really fun game. It’s challenging and overall a fun game!

It is like an extreme version of pac man and I’m hear for it the only thing I’ve found that is bad is that it doesn’t specify say in the tutorial what etch creatcher that attacked you does and that you swipe on the board and not at the bottom. Over all this is a great game and I will keep playing

I love the different power ups and enemies you fight. I just wish the game was longer because I finished it is a day. Hope to see more content in the future if possible ?

Hello chillyroom, I have been playing soul knight for a very long time, and I believe it is one of the greatest rogue likes on the App Store. I have played through this game, beat it, and found that it is also a very great game. Do you know what the difference is between soul knight and this? Presentation! For soul knight, people kind of understood how the game works: conserve energy, collect better weapons, etc, Because it is a roguelike, and we know what to expect. However, dungeon of weirdos is an entirely unique game. I have seen pac-man clones before, however this one brings more to the table. The issue is that nobody understands what’s going on! It’s just crazy! It’s playing through and trying to figure it all out is NOT a pleasant experience, either. And when you look in the items descriptions, it only offers a very small amount of information. I still have no clue what the cannon does, because all it’s description says is “BOOM!” Another thing is that I had no idea what the keys did until after I played through several times. I do not feel like you need to change the mechanics too much: you just need to change the item and enemy descriptions so that we can understand what is going on! The gameplay is good, but the characters are difficult to use. In soul knight, your currency and ability cool down are separate. However, in this game they are combined, making using diamonds feel expensive. Diamonds in this game are hard to get, and if the user’s first impression is that they can only be used to kill enemy’s for two seconds, then they will feel like they are near useless. The last thing I want to cover are the characters themselves. First of all, the characters have no upgrades. That was part of the fun in soul knight: picking a class and getting good at it. However in this game, stars feel too hard to get in order to feel like you make any significant progress. I have played as all of the feel characters (other than angle sheep) and guess which one of them is the best? Locksmith! Want to know why? The two extra bomb slots. They make the game so much easier. Why does he have two extra? Which other characters have two extra? And, most conspicuously, why aren’t there any items that let you have extra bomb slots? Sorry for the rant, however, I feel like a lot of people miss the complexity and fun of the game because they are overwhelmed by all the small elements that make it great. I am not an expert, but I personally feel like you should give us longer item and enemy descriptions! Figuring out how the game works is fun, but not knowing how to play it is not! I know that this is still a very new game, but I felt like I had to give my opinion. Very well done 5 stars once you understand it.

Honestly after revisiting 2 months later, I wanted to update my review. This is a pretty good game. I would like to thank the devs for replying to my previous review, even though I was pretty pessimistic on a lot of things. It’s a solid game and I think changes have been made to difficulty and the sort. Personally I like the new changes and I think that they’ve done a pretty good job. Honestly, it’s a solid game. I would recommend it.

R.caudle, and anyone who maybe have been questioning this, I have only played once, but bombs instantly kill snowman’s, so you have to have max bombs, and get some bombs in the level, probably. I have no clue, but I hope this works.
