In accurate forecasting at one time this app was my go to for weather. Now the forecasts are way off and highly inaccurate.

Did the data source for this app change ?? For the past 4 days, the hourly snow estimate of 1-5 in of snow then shows 18-29 in (!!!!) if I change to the daily page & look at today !! I used to use this app as a better alternative to the local tv weather ! Now, I just get laughed at ! Maybe it’s time for a new weather app, after using this for a few years ??!!

It's very pretty design bit is always wrong about the weather. Do not waste your cash on this POC app.

I like this app much better than the mainstream weather apps but since I’ve began using it it has been wrong on precipitation everyday. It will says it’s not raining and I’ll look at the window and it will be pouring down rain (it also shows rain on the radar) or says it is and there’s nothing coming down or on the radar.

I bought Dark Sky after my frustration with the stock Weather app reached its pinnacle. I really like the clean and simple interface compared to the utter chaos in other weather apps, and I especially appreciate the lack of advertising. Once in a while the precipitation information can be inaccurate, but that’s just Northern Colorado for you, where it can literally be raining on one block, and be sunny on the next... or snowing, there’s just no way that can ever be perfect. I travel a lot and I like the simple switching of locations so I know what to pack. The Apple Watch app can sometimes be slow to refresh, but I’m not sure that’s not an issue with with Watch OS in general. The animated globe view can be slow to download all the overlays, but that’s honestly just a flashy feature and not something I use but every once in a while.

I got this app a while ago and the best thing was it’s accuracy. I would get a message for rain starting in 5 minutes and it was dead on. Now it’s pouring outside and shows clear all day. I’ts been Terrible since last winter and has gotten worst. Save your money.

Would be a good app if the readings were more dependable and accurate. It will read no precipitation when it is pouring down outside with listing entered for my address.

The next hour prediction is generally pretty accurate I’ve found. It’s frustrating how slowly the radar loads. The app used to show a useful grey bar for the time periods that hadn’t loaded yet, but now it’s just all black, leading you to falsely conclude there’s been no precipitation nearby. The long term forecast is also presented in a kind of obtuse, text-only way, where line graphs would be much more helpful. Still, this is usually the first weather app I turn to if I just want to know whether I should ride my bike or not.

Provides incredibly accurate rainfall predictions... “Rainfall starting in 8 minutes”. If enabled, Big Sky will provide text notifications.
