Multiple tilesets and backgrounds are available, and user-selectable to help keep things fresh and interesting. Easymode alphanumeric, more difficult "FUTHARK" runic, or challenge mode collectible tileset, you decide.
The beginner level is pretty easy, but once you get bored with that, there are five more levels of increasing difficulty, culminating in the Philospher's Challenge, with twelve runes to guess and fifteen types of runes to choose from.
One of the possible awards of each game is a spell scroll. Scrolls can be collected and used in later games to cast spells which provide additional clues to help solve the cyphers, such as markers showing which runes are right or wrong, or how many of which rune are included in the puzzle.
Treasure chests also award collectible items; once one of each item is collected, and the Philospher's Challenge defeated, the player will be award the title of "Doctor of CypherSorcery".
