Crap

Worst assistant setup I’ve ever seen. An hour or more while Echo and Google Home took 2 minutes. Dialogue covers Next button on setup screen on ALL IOS devices. Finally resorted to Windows 10 PC. No wonder Invoke was so cheap...

iPad support

It’s good but I am using it on iPad and it’s only for iPhone and quality goes down.

Surprisingly, works better than Siri.

Take the review, stupid Apple!

I have a Windows laptop, and have used Cortana before, so I thought I’d give the phone app a chance. The real test came on a road trip with my dad: we were looking for Kount’s Kustoms in Las Vegas, and the maps app couldn’t find it. We tried Siri, and she said it didn’t exist. Then I tried Cortana on a whim, and she pulled up the correct address within a few seconds! She also has more personality, since she’ll sing, tell jokes, and even do impressions; all the stuff Siri used to do until Apple took it out.

Active listening is pointless

Keyboard warrior.

Cortana doesnt respond when the phone is locked, unlocked or even when the app is open. You have to press the mic button and say “hey cortana” which makes no sense.

Fantastic

Cortana helps me out a lot on a daily basis in my opinion it is better than the Siri on my iPhone 7.

Very useful Virtual assistant!

12-25-17 Short tip before I start: use it with Apple TV to see your day on big screen. Cortana is GREAT. Using it everyday. The myday feature very helpful for seeing today’s events AND reminders on a timeline. The best part is that reminders have checkboxes that can be completed from this view. This helps me to stay organized during the day. I really like how reminders can have pictures because it doesn’t matter if I’m on my laptop using Microsoft ink or using my iPhone 6s Plus screen shot annotations, I’m able to get the reminders. Great for screen shorting and writing a useful tip down. Also glad Cortana communicates with wunderlist and outlook. I can’t say how huge this is. Wunderlist allows me to make tasks and have those tasks appear on outlook as an all day event, which Cortana displays. I like the interest features. I’ve used the track a package feature and it was very useful to see it as I went about my day. The myday mode in Cortana is the most useful mode outside of reminders with pictures. I’m VERY satisfied with how Cortana is working. I use the voice commands to make reminders or events all the time. It almost feels futuristic. Thanks for the great app. 12/19/19. It is a Christmas gift! They fixed the issue that I spoke of on my last review. So photos now appear on reminders for the phone if they were created on the laptop! Nice! Photos used to just work one way from the phone to the laptop. This is VERY useful. Really impressed with Microsoft @Cortana team. You guys are doing a great job making it compatible for the iPhone. Also, hats off to Apple team as well for allowing the devices to communicate on their platform. First Marvel can now make movies with all the superheroes, then Cortana works excellent for IPhone and windows laptop sync. WHATS NEXT!? 12/16/17 This app is really good. I’m having a great time using Cortana. Appreciate the cross platform connectivity. Especially that it supports desktop versions of Cortana. I use iCloud calendars and sync those with Cortana and outlook. From there she syncs them directly into my outlook 2010. There are some minor things between sharing PC to mobile Cortana. Like sometimes a picture that was shared as a reminder on the PC won’t show up when I view the reminder on the iPhone. Same goes the other way around too. But overall it’s Very Consistent. 12/5/17 Location based reminders are a little slow at triggering. It seems like apples native Siri gets a faster response to map GPS. Like it gets first serving of dinner and Cortana gets the second plate after the fact. It makes a difference when you need exact map locations to trigger reminders. I’ve missed out on some location based reminders that Siri has caught during testing (separately while one was off and vice versa). But this is a bigger issue below ?Location based reminders for Cortana have arrive and depart triggers. But unlike Siri, they don’t have distance from. I want to be able to set a location and adjust a gps radius circle showing the distance of how far or close my location reminder will trigger. That way “remind me to study at Starbucks” triggers when I’m really close to it or far if I’d like. As it is now, the gps for Cortana seems to trigger at exact points of reference with no option of expanding or decreasing the locations radius. For that reason alone, I have to use location based reminders for Siri. I don’t want to but have to. I will probably see if Cortana can at least access those reminders so that she can display them on her hub because she is a lot more useful. Displaying events, news, interest, events, tasks and overall responsiveness is hands down awarded to Cortana. I just need location based reminders to be more accurate and I’m set! Old review: Excellent app. Very bright future. Strong initiative by Microsoft to step into the Virtual assistant realm. Very useful and syncs with Windows 10 for desktop and laptop. Cortana is more responsive than Siri. Recognizes commands easily. Cortana is fast and reliable for creating reminders and events. Events Syncs with outlook (reminders don’t, as far as I know).

Sad and crippled

After being a proud Windows Phone user for years I'm very familiar with Cortana on 8.1. This app is just embarrassing. The UI is awkward and poorly laid out. Cortana is very limited to what she can do and seems to take forever to do it. She doesn’t even have the fun animations when you ask her to do an impression. Just lame all around.
