Bug leaves old articles on Top Stories page

ea6bnfo

Articles more than 3 weeks old continue to appear on the opening Top Stories page.

App is unstable

Wylie Coy Ote

While content is good, this app is a horrible platform and no one from the paper seems to know or care that there are stories hung at the top of the page that are 40 days old. I pay a digital subscription fee and they can't keep it current? It's almost impossible to find anyone at the paper who will talk about the problem. The Coloradoan does not seem to care about digital subscribers, only those who have a paper delivered.

IPad version of the App is useless - most stories, including those about the weather are 76 days old - and will not refresh. Have tried deleting and reinstalling the App to no avail. Have been forced to use Safari and the normal website. Have sent feedback several times - but never received response. iPhone version seems ok.

Out of date news

MarvP

The iPad version of this app is useless unless you are interested in "news" that is days, weeks or in some cases months old. Updating does nothing to fix this. While there might be one or two up-to-date articles, it by no means mirrors the local news that appears in the paper copy. Useless!

Nice way to enjoy the local news

Back in colo

I've been using the app for 4 months. It works well and seems like a great way to get the local news.

Prominent ads, despite paid-up digital subscription

dgstangel

I love the Coloradoan; it is the only reliable source for local news and the reporters do good work. My three complaints are: 1. Tons of ads, including blatant examples of "click bait" and "fake news" links. (I.e., "Try this one weird trick..."). This, despite the annual digital subscription price. I'm happy to pay for the good work that the Coloradoan does, but let's omit the ads. Stop double-dipping with the online content. Unlike the print version, I am NOT paying you to show me online ads. Just news. Why not offer a separate, extra-premium "ad free" version? What's the risk? Charge me whatever you think it's worth. 2. No search. The website version of the paper offers a very useful text search feature, but not the app. Would love to see this. 3. Typos, typos, typos. Does anyone proofread or copy-edit the digital content? It is a rare article I read that doesn't have at least a handful of egregious errors, usually in basic sentence structure. Surely you could hire a couple of CSU English majors as low-paid interns to help clean this up?

Simple and User Friendly

PandaFondu

This is a news app and nothing more - the way it ought to be.

Good app to catch big stories but could use more content.

rjprivatei

I like this paper because it gives some good local stories. Unfortunately, the number of stories is a bit light for a town the size of Fort Collins.

The only source of local news

Colorado55

The Coloradoan is the only reliable news source for NoCo locals. I have very impressed with their coverage of breaking local news in the last year and have replaced Denver 9 with the Coloradoan as my primary source.

Easy and informative
