The pieces are divided, by convention, into white and black sets. The players are referred to as "White" and "Black", and each begins the game with sixteen pieces of the specified color. These consist of one king, one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns.

This app doesn't know how to set up a chess board properly. Most noticeable is the placement of the queen, the queen is supposed to start on a space of her own color. Less noticeable is the fact that the bottom right space should always be white. Also the app confuses a check with a check mate. It calls a check a checkmate and just says u win when u do actually checkmate the person/AI.
