You can view all the lenses at once or you can view lenses in a selected category. You have the ability to sort by aperture, minimum focal length and ESP (Estimated Retail Price).
Each lens has a detail page which provides links to the Canon web page detailing the lens, reviews of the lens from third parties (if available - brand new lenses might not have reviews yet) and information on where to rent the lens in the US (if available).
In app upgrade available that turns off ads and enables wishlist and compare features.
This app tells you the name of a lens and a retail price. No comparisons, no samples, no MTF charts no technical data. No discernable practical use for this app.
Great app but iPad is out now and looking at the lenses on an app made for iPhone is pretty blurry and pixelated. Otherwise it would of made 5 stars. Needs an iPad version in higher resolution! I'd gladly pay 99 cents for that.
Wonderful if you are in the market for a new lens. Thank you for your time in putting this together Mr. Gorman!
I like the layout and such, has links to many review websites. I use it whenever I need to look up what lens I need next. I do have two requests: DXOMark scores right on the "info" page The ability to mark them as owned, so they look different or have a checkmark on the list screen next to the > or something!
There are some great suggestions below, however the one I'd like to see that is fairly basic would be which lens hood goes with each lens. The filter size is included but with each lens requiring it's own hood it would make sense to include such info.
Like it, would love to use the sort function to view only the EF lenses, and also only the L series....
This really needs to be for the iPad as well. I do all my research on the road and that would be ideal research to read about. Thanks
I love the ability to quickly view all Canon lenses with this app. The app has a simple and clean design, uncluttered with unnecessary junk. Having the ability to link to numerous popular photography websites for reviews WITHIN the app (not having to wait for Safari to open) is really nice. Allows me to quickly read through reviews and switch to different lenses. Thank you!
