I just purchased a used (but unused) HF R50. I did the typical Google searches prior to buying and knew going in that there was a lag with wi-fi playback. I downloaded this app knowing that with the micro SD card that wi-fi features probably wouldn’t ever be needed. It serves a useful purpose but in all reality, I’m going to be inserting the micro SD card into my computer to save videos and to send videos! Though it probably doesn’t reach the acceptability of those that might use the features, it does for those of us that use it as a bonus feature, because we don’t rely on the app for day to day uses.

Bought Canon R50 today instead of R500 because of wifi feature. However Cameraaccess Plus app does not work on my iPhone 5s or hubby's 5. Don't pay extra for canon wifi on camcorder .

This app works at 60i due to the bandwidth limits of 2.4ghz wifi (tested with r50). The lag leaves something to be desired and I'd have placed the wifi external by adapter to allow easy upgrade to 5ghz with an hdmi video feed( more than 300mb stream). However, for making minute adjustments to pan and other settings, this is a great app. Great for my current purpose. Ease of use leaves something to be desired (changing exposure settings etc).

What to much lag to be useful and to hard to hook to wifi 6 sec lag time between iPad and R52 Yet another, lets getting out there then worry about it not working .

Used on my iPhone 5s and iPad Air running iOS 8.0.2. Had to re-initialize the camera to get wi-fi to work. After that, works great, and not much lag time as some reports say. Makes using the camera easy for remote usage, and recording videos for YouTube and such.

Features sound nice, but app keeps crashing while camera monitoring is in progress. Happens during monitor at home and monitor while away. I had better luck temporarily using an iPhone 6.

This will only run for about 10 seconds on my iphone 4s before it crashes!!! makes my canon wireless pan base useless!!! Wish they offered another app that works, or an older version that would work on my phone or ipad.
