Promising start, not quite ready for prime time

NotTakenThisOne

This has the bones of a good text editor, but it's missing some of the features and polish that would let you really do productive work with it. 1) The GitHub integration is far too simple. Coupling 'Save' to git-push is really bad idea. The right solution--the ability to stage/commit/push in separate steps--is much trickier to implement, but necessary if you're planning on committing to an active repo. I see folks asking for BitBucket integration, but honestly, until GitHub is solved correctly, I wouldn't see the point. 2) No iCloud Drive support yet. Dropbox is there and works well, but if you're in the iCloud Drive camp, you're out of luck for now. 3) Incomplete vim bindings. The key bindings are good enough to get started, but once you're actually editing code, you'll start to notice all of the things that are missing. Ctrl-F to jump forward a page, for example. 4. Syntax highlighting issues. If you're using a file-extension, then syntax highlighting works well, but if you're not, you'll be forced to manually select the syntax. Unlike regular vim, Buffer doesn't seem to be keying off the content (shbangs, etc), or if it is, it's not very good yet. Overall, I'd say this editor is not ready for prime-time, but, I'm somewhat optimistic it'll get there eventually. The developer seems responsive to feedback and seems to be iterating on the app pretty frequently.

No support for ssh/sftp keys

Bobbytop

For the wishlist, support for ssh keys for those of us who don't use standard name/password authentication

Support is lacking

fireside79

Purchased this app as a way to continue development on my iPad Pro. Editor seems great, although I have not been able to really use it much since there is no way to select between different GitHub branches. I emailed support twice over the course of a week to see if this is supported or would be in the future, however I have not gotten a response. I'll update this review if/when I receive a response from the developer...

Getting there but not ready for a real vim replacement

Peerez

Usually I use termius and ssh into a server with vim installed and just edit files that way. This is less than ideal on an iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard since there is no escape keyboard. Also there are latency issues with using vim over ssh, especially while traveling. This editor is great in helping with those times, but the vim mode is still missing quite a bit of things: * ctrl + { should jump up the file in between code blocks. * ctrl + } should jump down the file in between code blocks. * ctrl + v visual vertical select * escape is not a toggle. You should remain in command mode from repeatedly press escape. * B, W don't work There is also features I miss from vim plugins themselves: * Fuzzy search for files. * Horizontal and vertical splits. * Tabs * File tree view in editor Thanks to the developer for the initial work! I hope we continue to see more development so this can a full time editor for me.

Excellent Editor for iPad & DropBox integration

Wizazzle

Great vim and standard editor capabilities. The Molokai default color scheme is an excellent choice -- it's always been one of my favorites. Great defaults all around. Easy customization.

This app is awesome.

I'm no developer but as an amateur I find this app to be fantastic. It's literally vim with a pleasing theme. I love the syntax highlighting. The only thing it's missing for me is support for supercollider. Maybe it can happen one day

Seriously? Can't preview?

Micshot

I want to be able to use my iPad Pro as my main machine. That includes being able to write in python and then test/view it. Having an editor but no preview? Waste of money. There are free apps out there that let you "edit". Let alone this app calls itself powerful, can't zoom in on text to make it comfortable to view, doesn't include OneDrive connectivity, github pull/commit? Doesn't work as advertised.
