Reviews

A LEGO magazine for all of us
wrtyler

Geez, the last review was 4 years ago? Well let me fix that. There aren't a whole lot of magazines (either print or electronic) covering the world of LEGO in the first place, so any LEGO publication is better than none. But Brickjournal is not just ANY publication. What sets Brickjournal apart is the breadth of it's coverage. Other LEGO-centric publications focus on what is currently popular, or what TLG is currently pushing. Brickjournal DOES include that coverage, but also has articles about lesser known products, building techniques, and people in the LEGO universe. I love the fact that each issue has a specific focus so that you get more in-depth coverage and information about a topic. That DOES mean that not every issue will have something that interests you, but when it does...it's got it in spades! And the specific topic areas do cycle, so invariably there will be multiple issues that dive into your area of interest. That said, I've found that even those issues that aren't about my particular interest have something (a short article, a review, a quick build) that IS worthwhile. The other aspect I love about Brickjournal is that it brings into one place what you have to search for and read at many different online sites. Joe Meno, the editor, has a long, LONG history with LEGO, the product, the company and the people. He has the ability to take all the LEGO news and information and distill it down to what is important and interesting. To me, it is worth every penny, everytime there is a new issue.

$119 a year subscription!
Pugsly14

Are you kidding me? $119 a year subscription! Print version with a downloadable PDF is $59. 6 issues a year = $20 an issue. That's quit a markup. Don't even bother with this. It takes forever to load And it more than twice the retail price for print issue.

Great pictures, ideas!

I enjoy the nostalgic feeling of LEGOs and this magazine helps it too.

Awesome that people do that!

It's awesome someone takes time to put together so much of awesome content. If you have a constructor living inside of you, BrickJournal is for you. Thanks!

Lousy
Rollergod

Don't bother. I purchased an issue and it still wants me to buy it again. I had high hopes but it seems this is another rip off mag that wants to charge you again for a single mag! And the publisher had the audacity to send me an invoice for the issue I paid for. Not. Worth. It.

We stand behind our app
Twomorrow

I'm the publisher of BrickJournal, and if you're having any trouble with the app, I will absolutely make it right if you contact either our app provider (through the app itself) or me, through our website. I am not sure what the problem is the above reviewer encountered, but aren't aware of any problems anyone else has found, so hopefully they just weren't familiar with the app's interface. Any invoice you receive is simply a receipt from Apple, not a request to pay again for the same item. But if you encounter a problem, please contact us so we can correct it.

Best LEGO magazine there is
Marvin Hall

This is the best magazine collection on all things LEGO. Joe Meno and his team share their encyclopedic knowledge of the LEGO universe with us. So glad to have an app so we can have access to BrickJournal in Jamaica!

Misleading price
TheCollectorsDugout

I always picked up a hard copy of the magazine whenever I could find one , and when I saw I could get digital issues especially of the older issues which I missed it was a great idea. Then I saw in the magazine that it was $3.99 an issue , not bad I pay 8 for a hard copy and half price is good but if you try to buy one thru the app it's 5.99 , what happened to the 3.99 that's quoted it the magazine why the 2 dollar markup ? That's misleading and a bit of a scam , drop the price or drop the app. I will drop the app in the meantime.

It's good I guess
