The reports are automatically fed into the City’s work order system so that they can be tracked and assigned to service teams. Users can follow the status of their request, by using a unique tracking number for each case.
Residents can also share their reports with others, or tweet about them with their friends.

This app used to be great but the recent bugs have made it virtually unusable. When viewing a report it will open multiple times and clicking on a pin on the map opens a banner that can never be closed obscuring what is behind it.

Boston 311 has never responded to any report that I have submitted going back around 3 years. Can I give negative e stars?

Boston Public Works gets right to the requests, I had mine turned around in 24 hours which I was very happy with! This is a great app and the city does a great job!

Not sure why Boston has a 311 app. The service is useless! The city does not care about resident parking. We have multiple cars parked on our street during TD Garden events and the only response to reports we receive from 311 is “case closed” or “duplicate request” My favorite is when they respond 48 hours later and tell you “the area is clear” ya think? The illegal parkers left two days ago. I don’t think these people actually work. Needless to say I’ve deleted the app and just call the tow companies myself.

The App itself works well and is easy to use and I have not run into any software malfunctions. A lot of people use this App to report absolute nonsense and it is absolutely hilarious especially when BTD or etc responds there was no violation or a vehicle is in compliance. I think the App is great for reporting potholes and needle clean ups.
App stop working

Months ago I notice the app and even City of Boston website stop showing correct, trash delays pick up cause me to keep putting out the trash a day earlier than needed. What has changed at city hall? Today the website shows week of Labor Day and Christmas still regular trash pick up days (Friday)and not delayed to a day why ? I feel this is wrong again. BOS 311 keeps closing cases without fixing this.

Very user friendly, but would like the ability to delete a report I created (if submitted by accident) as well as a way to report speeding (especially if BPS Safe Routes to School is encouraging use of this app).

Great for reporting pot holes, needles, graffiti. Unfortunately, passive aggressive neighbors seem to take great joy in dropping the dime over the slightest infractions. This results in a waste of time, but entertainment for voyeurs like myself. Some people need to worry less about what everyone else is doing and more on themselves.
