4.5/5 "A Space Battle RTS Done Right" - Pocketmeta.com
Battlevoid: Harbinger is a hard sci-fi space exploration game blending roguelike, turn-based, star map strategy, and real-time space battles. You are a young commander given the task to venture out into enemy territories, far away from home to unknown galaxies, never knowing what you will face as you jump out from hyperspace.
In Battlevoid: Harbinger you will have to make decisions regarding your fleet and equipment, face surprising elements, use the human built Battlestation to your advantage and battle fiercely for survival as you defend humanity. Strategy, tactics, and resource management are the core of Battlevoid: Harbinger. Plan your ship's offenses and defenses. Fortify your ships against enemy weapons, and wield them wisely. Lure your enemies into traps, or distract your foes with distress beacons.

I love the game so far. It has good replayability to it, as each map is randomly generated. I also like that you can play each game completely differently. Good for both speed running and space role play. Really cool mechanics. My only quarrel is with the tutorial, because certain important things are either not covered or covered very briefly, so you gotta experiment with the controls a lot to figure out what is what. An example of this is the ship purchasing and formation setting, as it just briefly explains purchasing a ship and does not at all cover formation setting. However, once you get the hang of things, the game gets really fun really fast
This game is dope af. I’ve had it for several years and I still play it regularly.
Absolutly love this game, just i request a fix on the special ships. Can u make it better by actually playing as that faction? Like the Malgrog (is it like that?) once u play that ship can we also play as the trolgars? Like just change the ship looks when we select it?? And one last thing..... can u guys try to put co-op modes in the game? Thanks for making this game!
Interesting game. Frustrating with the severe handicaps but very strategy based. Human weapons could use a little boost or upgrade costs could be reduced. Other than that it is a fun game and you will kill your battery playing it for hours and hours lol. Overall 4/5 because of the constant dying until you’ve unlocked the destroyer ship which makes it much easier.
Update - 2 years later and still one of the best games in the App Store. Provides amazing depth with a truly simple interface. I’ve seen some complaints that it’s too hard and that is fair, it IS hard. If you are having trouble starting out, upgrade fighter bays early to provide more ships faster. Strategically, stick close to your base sectors for both easy repairs and easy fights with assists from the bases. Just be aware that each lost turn eats away your experience award at the end of the game. I've never seen this game featured and it's a shame. This is an amazing mobile game. It features compelling fleet management both tactically and strategically. The overall game has a rogue like feel. The mechanics are simple and easy to execute on a touchscreen. The strategic layer offers real choice in building, equipping and upgrading your small fleet. Tactical combat also offers real challenge as you maneuver for advantages and make critical targeting choices. Highly recommend.
This game is still a fun classic, idk if I'm just getting older or if most of the new app store games just aren't fun anymore. This still hits the spot after all these years.
This game is great. It’s a solo, roguelite, space adventure where you’re up against one of the types of enemies, which changes what strategy you’ll want to use. As you progress in character level, you’ll unlock new ships, figure out different tactics, and get further and further. Another great thing about this game is that you can stop at any time! Wether you simply pause it or close it, you can re open right back where you were. The only thing I don’t like is there seems to be a content drought right now. Did devs put the game on the shelf? 10/10, deserves more love.
On the iPad this game is just stupendous. I have played this every single day for months!
Got this game a couple weeks ago, and loved it - unfortunately the latest iOS updates makes it completely unplayable. It crashes constantly now. A real bummer since the game was amazing for the short time I could play it. **update** Latest patch appears to have fixed the issue and I’m back to scour the heavens for scrap and upgrade points. Trolgars beware!
