Everything used to be free

Now you gotta pay

Please, just keep making it worse

I don’t understand why I am locked out of the songs I made. All I can do is play them, I can’t edit or do anything else. So if you want to make music that you can’t add or subtract any thing from, buy this app

Awesome, but the update

TheEvilHotdog

Hi! I love using Auxy, except the new update. You can barely use any instruments and all my loved kinds like strain and otter are gone now! And now I have to pay 7$ a month to use them! Please go back to the previous version. And Im not allowed to spend on a subscription, so I can’t use auxy anymore. Can you please get all the regular ones back. :( or at least just make it an add on that you kept and don’t have to keep paying for the original sounds

They ruined it

AppleGeek/Gamer

When this app first came out it was great! I finally had somewhere to put my ideas. But this new update ruined everything. The user interface is great. But now that’s all I can say. The update before this was bad enough because they decided to put a paywall over all of their sounds and limit you to their demos sounds, which are sub-par. Now you’re even more limited because most of The demo sounds that you were able to use in the previous update are now also locked. This app is no longer usable for free. I am going to delete this app from my phone and I will make sure that none of my friends use this app.

Might as well not be free

Rosekillr66

Way to start off mostly free with an optional subscription, then slowly take away things that were already free. I got this app and was amazed at the number of instruments. Now, if I don’t pay the monthly subscription, I can pretty much only write Sprint ringtones. So thanks for the false sense of freedom. -Edit- That’s good and appreciated, so thank you for taking the time and listening, but what I was really getting at was the dichotomy between adding NEW premium sounds, and making originally free ones premium. I appreciate the extension on the original sounds

Great app; Too bad about that subscription.

Software devs have to make a living, and Auxy is well worth paying for. But subscription plans are a big turn-off for most users. Considering that similar apps are available without recurring payments (Korg Gadget, Groovebox, Oscilab, Caustic, Cotracs, Medley) it seems likely this pricing scheme will backfire for Auxy. Makes me sad.

Great sequencer, terrible treatment of user base

JeffrySG

This is really a great music app. It’s really fun to play with and create music. It’s really unfortunate that many of the features/sounds that we had have been removed unless we pay a monthly fee. I understand if you need to switch to a subscription model to be profitable but to take away features/sounds from existing users so they cannot edit songs they have worked on previously is really a terrible way to treat a user base. At least give us the ability to switch to a different sound so we can continue to edit songs we’ve had and worked on. Too bad there is not an option for users to buy sound packs once, in addition to having a subscription based option. I for one would never subscribe but would happily buy a pack every so often. But users that want all the sounds could continue to subscribe. As the sound packs for free users slowly gets smaller and smaller each update I feel my use of the app will eventually just stop. Especially when the free song packs get smaller songs that use them become uneditable for us. Edit: I really do appreciate the devs temporarily bringing back the sounds that were taken away so we can edit and switch out the sounds to one of the few remaining free sounds. I guess my tl;dr of this review would be: This is a great music product as long as you’re willing to spend the money for the monthly/yearly subscription. If it’s worth the money to you it is a really user friendly way to put down tracks and export as needed. If you aren’t going to subscribe you’re better off exploring other solutions.

It would have been five stars but...

spead master

This app was great with all sorts of sounds. But now you guys shrunk it down to 5 demo sounds or something. I get that it is hard for two people to manage this whole thing but you could have at least kept the original demo sounds that were originally on the app because now you have to pay to do almost anything. I am seriously thinking about deleting this app now.

Another one gone

Subscription based apps are an instant delete.

The best music-making app

TheDudeAbided

The simplicity of the design allows you to program beats and melodies and start shaping the various parts into songs faster and more intuitively then any other music making app. The recent update added a whole lot of new preset sounds, plus the ability to load your own samples into custom kits, which vastly expanded the audio possibilities here. My go to app for programming nowadays, quite happy with the direction it’s taking, the expansion of soundpacks and the constant tweaks to make the UI even friendlier. I know a lot of people have complained about the subscription model, but it’s cheaper than Netflix, and I use it twice as much, so I can’t complain really. Given the massive influx of new content, I certainly feel like the investment is worth it. Again, the low stress environment of working entirely within one app is ace.
