Great Questions, Bad App

This app is poorly designed. You can’t highlight. Lab values are hard to access. An assist button that automatically reclassifies the question as “correct with assistance” instead of just correct is way too easy to accidentally click. It’s too easy to accidentally select a wrong answer. The text is too small with no (or at least no easily found) way to increase it. There is also no way to flag a question. Amboss on the computer is a good resource. It would be nice to be able to use Amboss on mobile, but this app is just bad and needs a complete redesign.
Great content, but buggy!

Love the amboss library and question bank. The app is frustrating mainly because landscape mode is unusable. When you flip between questions in landscape mode, the right side of the text is cut off, so you can’t read the question. Also would be much better if the lab values sheet were more app friendly (e.g., bigger font, collapsible sections, searchable)

Dark mode

This app is decent, it be a lot better with a dark mode option. Still one of the only STEP Q banks without an option for a dark background. It makes a huge difference when reviewing question blocks. It would as be better if users could save questions into folder like in the desktop version.

Needs highlighting

There needs to be highlighting ability and a quick shortcut for lab values in the bottom bar. Burying labs in a submenu is just bad UI design.

You can’t change the font size in the app. Text is way too small. Edit: I am wrong. Thank you so much to the developer for responding. This is wonderful.

The Amboss app has been a life saver for 3rd year with all the time at the hospital. If I have a few minutes free, I can quickly download the last question set I was working through. It pairs seamlessly with the amboss knowledge app as well and will open reference info for further information.

This is not a review of the question bank content. It’s great. This a review of the QBank *app*. The text is tiny and you can’t change it, you can’t highlight text, and you can’t strike through answer choices. It’s passable on an iPhone but laughable on an iPad.
