Cool app featuring a digital synth and a piano-roll style sequencer. Works for me on 6th gen iPod Touch. Controls are easy enough to work out if you are familiar with DAWs. App is geared to those who want to build a track up from a sine wave level.

Potential

This app would be so awesome if it was GarageBand plug-in instead.

Really fun, well made chiptune composer
Hellopants

The interface is very easy to use, great design, although my big fingers get in the way of the tiny dials at times. It's a remarkably full featured music editor. Very impressed by the tunes I was able to create, and just how quickly I was able to create them. The only feedback I would have is that deleting notes is a little tricky, I would prefer a simple double tap on the note to delete it as opposed to selecting the note, then selecting delete. Great app for making chiptunes, looking forward to hours of experimenting with this one, not to mention seeing how it holds up for a live performance once I've put together a few good tunes. Great work Yudo!

Cool app advanced user

Better know what you are doing but it got potential to really create full tracks like in the good old times Really good graphics and use of the gesture and multi touch

I love this app. Great for making fun chiptune music!! Amazing interface and extremely easy to use. All the sounds and arps are great, you'll be making tunes in minutes. As much as I love using noise for percussion I would really love to see some low bit drums(kicks, hi hat and snares) kinda like lsdj:)

Awesome synth

This a great synthesizer for being on a phone, lots of features and sounds great.

Great app, lacking support

While this isn't the best synth and sequencing app on the iPhone, it certainly is the most comprehensive and innovative title to date. Being a huge fan of chip tunes and gaming in general, I was very exciting when I first heard about this program. And while it lives up to my expectations, there is a severe lack of user comparability to a certain degree. Yes the app itself is easy enough to use if you know your way around even the most basic of sequencers or synths, but if you run into trouble...well, you're pretty much flat out of luck. To date the only manual available is in Japanese. And the user help online is virtually non existant. I suppose it takes time for anything to form a fanbase, abs hopefully this is the case with 8bittone. You'd think that an English translation would be included with the app, but the link provided in the program only takes you to a Japanese information page. Apps like this are all about figuring things out yourself, but there is a certain degree of a learning curve involved, so unless you already know what you're doing, there's a good chance you'll just be lost at sea with no direction to guide you to shore.

Cool but buggy
Thermos79

I have found it pretty straight forward to use, and quite cool but have run into some definite bugs in the short time I've used it. The copy/paste behavior can be weird and inconsistent. I've also had some crashes (2 or 3) trying to rewind in the piano roll screen. Hopefully all this will get smoothed out. Other than that, very cool app.

Great app

5 stars for the app but minus one for no English manual.

crash bug

I was moving the loop points around in the demo song and when it tried to loop the game froze. It happens 100% of the time. I have a 3.0 firmware. I left a message on the website. Also the Yugo channel really slows down loading and just offers advertisements. When I pay money for an app I don't want advertisements. When the app launches it must download the ads because I thought the app was frozen until the tv icon started jumping around with a "tap me" message. If anything we should be able to disable it!
