Links too easy to click while scrolling

Mike W L

While scrolling through The Daily Skimm portion of the app, it is too easy to click on a link that they embed within the text. While scrolling, I have to be careful to move my scrolling finger to the left and right to avoid easily getting pushed to one of the linked pages. Otherwise, I love the content and layout of the app. Since the embedded link issue happens a lot due to the way I scroll, it makes it hard to read. Therefore, until that changes, I am giving a three star review, which otherwise would be five stars

Refreshing

Worth the subscription money to read and hear news that is genuinely informative. If you love current events but get frustrated watching the news on TV, or if you feel like you have to listen to Fox News and CNN back-to-back to “get both sides” and “figure out what’s happening in the middle” .... theSkimm will make your life a whole lot easier. The subscription gives you access to a bunch of comprehensive guides on topics that are typically very polarizing (For example: The History of Labor Unions, the Hong Kong Protests, the Iran Nuclear Deal ....etc). The timeline of an issue is explained objectively to give context and then moments that are particularly controversial are pointed out. Then, both (or more) sides of the argument(s) surrounding the issue are presented. You know, like how news should be. My other favorite feature is the audio notes because I can just throw those on when I’m doing chores or when I’m driving. It’s crazy convenient - I don’t think I’ve ever in my life felt as deeply informed as I do now, and I barely have to try. Which is funny because I certainly used to spend a whole lot more time trying to figure out what’s going on in the world than I do now. Highly recommend.

Reunited and it feels so GOOD. Finally hit that resub button again after so long and was greeted by a new Guides tab! Oh how I’ve missed you Skimm so, so much. Love you forever and ever. -Stephen

Thumbs Down for Update

heyit'sAl

The new update makes this app impossible to download on my current device (iPhone). There should be older versions available for download.

Unbiased, reliable journalism

AllenBedgood

This is everything I wanted and more. I recently cancelled my subscription to The Washington Post for TheSkimm because TWP’s bias for Democrats and being heavily anti Trump wasn’t the type of journalism I wanted. I want unbiased FACTS. Not opinion pieces.

Simply the best

Hxxxxxxchxxxxxxx

The best writing that is clear and easy to understand. News is easier to consume when it's delivered with the context of why it is happening. It's a deeper dive and gives you what you need to feel a part of the story. Great reporting, thoughtful reporting and listening to them at the end of the day to wrap things up is a bonus.

Disorganized AF

DelishOnToast

I downloaded the app for the audios but when I’m in the app it reads “Skimm More: theSkimm App has an audio episode that explains the business of college sports. Download the app to listen.” BUT IM IN THE APP!!! Even if I click that link it takes me right back to the same exact page with the same exact link. It’s a vicious circle that’s NOT WORTH THE SPACE IT TAKES UP ON YOUR PHONE. I really liked their daily emails but the app has too much content with zero organization of all the content. Fix all that and I might return. TTFN,

Can’t open

Really enjoy the Skimm daily email I’ve gotten for years. Tried to open the app today but it starts to load, goes black, then closes.

I’m sorry but I can’t even scroll through the daily skimm without it redirecting me every ten seconds. Please fix it. It used to no do this but now I can’t even scroll. I touch parts of the screen without any links and it opens up a news site or anything.

News content is great

Jbizness13

News content is great. My only complaint is that paid app content isn’t released until about 6:30am daily while the free web version comes out at 6am. This is frustrating as an early riser who uses the app
