The articles on covid in August are from April! I need current info. You only have 4 articles. They can’t all be current?

Disappointed

Hwneif

Skimm has been my favorite for sooooo long. I don’t have cable and felt a little lost trying to make sure I wasn’t missing important goings on. It’s really important to me, in a world of everyone shoving an opinion at you, to find something that lets you just be knowledgeable and research further. I used to think that this was it!! It was a non-bias source of information. However, I see tone developing. I’m disappointed and will likely look elsewhere for information so I can read info instead of what feels like someone’s opinion.

I’ve tried so hard to like this app

Con150

I’ve tried so hard to like this app. There are truly great things about it. The guides are pretty good; the daily briefs are generally informative. The only problem is that it is nauseatingly biased. I don’t mind hearing news from a different political perspective (it’s keeps me rounded) but they don’t even attempt to have any semblance of fairness. There is no restraint when it comes to pandering to millennials. I don’t want to be pandered to; i just want news without any commentary. If this app could just be the one to finally provide this, it would be the best news app around.

Mis-advertised

rlm041157

This app is advertised as “free” with in-app descriptions. However, that’s really a misadvertisement. You can access the app for a 1 week free trial, and then you have to pay. So it’s not partly free, with additional layers of access available for purchase. You have to pay for any and all access except for the 1-week. I’m fine if an app wants to charge, but I think that advertisements need to be honest and not skimming by with a technicality in how they word things. Pun intended.

Love the format and the app. Don’t love the liberal bias.

When I signed up for the Skimm, I read they were moderate and got criticism for being too conservative or too liberal. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it. And while the format, quality and brevity are great, I am disappointed to find this is predominantly liberal media. Their attempts represent the conservative side reveal their bias. Not surprising when you consider Google is an investor but still disappointing.

One-sided

peterskm

I used to think the Skimm was more balanced but in the months leading up to the 2020 election, it is clear that they are against anything in the Republican agenda. It is disappointing to say the least that yet another news source cannot be trusted. There is no where to turn that isn’t either super right or super left. And this includes the Skimm.

The best part of every weekday...

I am a more informed person because of Skimm and well rounded information makes me more interesting. Thank you Skimm.

A fantastic way to stay up to date

Wanderingella

This is such a good way to keep up with all of the current events. It breaks everything down and explains it really well. 10/10 recommend it for both those newly trying to keep up to date and also those who are looking for more easy ways to get the news. This is by far the most approachable way I’ve found so far. It even breaks down terms commonly used in articles that people new to these discussions may not know.

Part of My Daily Routine

SamsonMyShiba

100% honesty: here is a snapshot of my day-to-day Skimm routines... First, I read TheSkimm newsletter while enjoying my morning coffee. While eating my lunch in the afternoon, I peruse the Skimm Reads section via my Skimm iOS app. At the end of the day, SkimmThis, their podcast, provides productive entertainment to keep me alert during my commute. Thank you for making each day of my life a little better you guys! I always speak very highly of TheSkimm.

Trouble registering, but great once you get in

donisflying

I managed to login after registering by tapping the text link “restore purchases“, once I got in I was really happy with the UI and the non-biased professional content. It's a daily app for me now. OLD REVIEW: Maybe there's some kind of fluke, but I created an account and subscribed but the app still won't even give an option to log in, and you can't use it otherwise. I tried to contact support but there is no link or form to do so... If this is a strange bug, hopefully the developers will reach out.
