eStorage allows you to catalog any items you want to: household items, tools, goods, documents, collections, etc. There’s no limit to how many item categories can be entered. Each new item can be given a name, description, value (useful for insurance), picture and quantity (set to 1 by default).
The bar code reader featured in the app enables you to easily add its ID to an item, and recover the information related to an item (Iphone 3GS/4/5 and new iPad).
The items can be associated with the categories you choose: clothes, computer hardware, files, tools, materials, etc. (you can of course create any category you need).
In order to easily keep track of lent or borrowed items, eStorage gives you the opportunity to register the information (person, date) related to such operations.
To help you easily retrieve your stored items, eStorage enables you to associate them with a storage location: geographic reference, room, piece of furniture, drawer, suitcase, etc.
Storage spaces can be organized into several hierarchical levels, like living room / closet / shelf / box, for example
eStorage comes with powerful search engines allowing you to instantly retrieve any item, information about it, its lent/borrowed status and storage space on the one hand, or all the items stored in one place or belonging to the same category on the other hand.
For users wishing to accurately monitor their item storage levels, eStorage also enables precise quantity management for each item, including the setting of storage shortage alerts to quickly spot items whose quantity is below the predetermined level.
eStorage allows you to export the data (items and storage locations) as a CSV file (which can be imported into most spreadsheet programs) or as PDF files, sent by e-mail. This allows you to view and manipulate the data on your computer.

Have been using Items and Storage since July of 2011 and it has changed my life. I am single and live in an apartment so my life is pretty simple. I have succeeded in logging almost all of my possessions in the app. In the last few years as Minimalism has become popular the Items and Storage app has allowed me to look at, organize, keep or recycle items of my life. Every journey begins with the first step, so no matter how large your life is you can identify the important items in your world.

The only concern I have: I do not understand how to back up this product Unbelievable tool. When my father died he left no information regarding any of his possessions. I've inventoried all of my hunting and reloading equipment and accessories. If my son and wife decide to sell off my hunting and reloading accessories and equipment this information will be valuable for them to determine worth and application.

After playing around with the features, I get the sense that this can be used not only for basic inventory organization—by installing on an iPhone or iPad it’s perfect for inventory recording mobility, but it also has the ability for deeper use. Features such as a barcode scanner, stock keeping reminders for low stock, lending, general locations and the subsets such as specific drawers, etc. Valuations and an in-app calculator help generate reports. It’s nice that you can set up separate databases, e.g. books, software, any collections you can imagine. I’d like to see a full CSV export, a way to use WiFi to import/export rather than having to use iTunes, and a sync feature between other users that might share the database.

I’ve used this for years and it has been rock solid, easy and intuitive to use. I maintain an inventory of collectables synchronized on my phone and tablet. I refer to the app often while traveling to coordinate wants and haves. The convenience is awesome, the photos in the inventory are invaluable and it’s quick and simple to use.

This is a great app and I’ve been using it for years. I maintain 3 separate databases, 1 for items in my storage unit, 1 for food inventory in my freezers, and 1 to keep track of my Charcuterie Hobby products on hand. The one caveat I’ve realized is when you share data bases between devices you have to export to iTunes or to iCloud and if you’re not careful you can overwrite the wrong database on the importing device. Just make sure you have the proper database open on the receiving device before you import the file. The only thing this app is lacking is an auto-syncing of same named databases via the iCloud. For that added function, I would be willing to buy a new Version 2 of the app or even support an annual subscription model providing it’s reasonably priced.

I truly do love this database management system! I currentlyinventory my stamps, dies, inks, papers, stencils, tools, and more. I got my daughter to download it and purchase the whole system, and now we have a single tool to keep excellent track of our overwhelming inventories, hers in Maryland and mine in North Carolina. The ability to see every single one of my steps and every single sentiment is a real game changer which makes my card making crabbiness so much easier. Plus when I’m given an opportunity to buy more I just check my phone. That way I never have to worry about buying the same thing twice . Thank you so much!
