Basically a Garfield version of Jetpack Joyride, but with less elegant controls.
My kids have been playing the heck out of this game, but just today my son asks why they are playing constantly, but still not collecting enough money to buy anything. He's use to Jetpack Joyride, where playing actually allows you to advance in the game. Looking at the prices of the items available, they would have to play non-stop all day to come close to affording the "upgrades." On top of that, the upgrades don't seem to have any benefit to improve your ability to collect money and improve Garfield. There is no sense of advancement in the game. You play for hours on end, only to see that you've earned half the money required for the cheapest upgrades.
My favorite character in my favorite kind of games on mobile. Couldn't resist of course :)
The kids love playing this but when they clear a level the coins they earned were not given. Has happened for three levels straight.
Funn-ish gameplay but some problems. Big one: it doesn't always give you the money reward for completing 3 missions, and when it does, it's really delayed, not when you get the award screen but multiple games later. Buggy. Also the clothes and lasagna trophies don't seem to give any benefit. Only the $10,000 superpower upgrades seem to, and apparently you can't do missions and get those because a lot of missions, it costs more to buy some pointless item than you win in the mission (even were you to get your reward). What about the glasses letting you see stuff further out? Or something to slow down enemies or time or both? Or an extra life? Or something to reverse your gravity (ie, you float and tapping makes you fall)? Or any old power-up from the items, really. The witches are also a bit too fast and aim for you when you're going through areas with only one tight squeeze path. There seems to be no way to slow down or speed up so you can't avoid them. Game over. Annoying. Bottom line, could be a lot better. You'd have to enjoy dressing up Garfield just for the fun of it, without expecting gameplay bonuses, to really enjoy it. But it does have pretty graphics and is kind of addictive for some reason.
