Give the boy something to eat. He’ll even say “Thanks!” Touch the violin and it plays for you!

Fun with Directions Lite is a ground-breaking app for the iPHONE, designed to provide a fun and engaging way to practice listening, following directions, working memory and the auditory processing of language. From the simplest of directions (“Touch the cat”) to the more complex (“Give the boy without a hat or glasses, something round that grows on trees and can be red or green.”) your child can grow and learn with this game over time. Colorful, vivid art and animations against a white background combine to create a complete game experience without visual clutter. Sound effects and surprises keep the game engaging! This app is a great choice for a toddler/preschooler, or any young child who would like to practice listening to or reading directions!

Included in the Lite version are two concepts: “Give” and “touch.”

Features include settings for text on/off, (to practice reading vs. listening) and the desired level of play: easy, intermediate, and advanced.

An added bonus that is included in this app is the optional “Superstar Direction” which allows additional practice for remembering (“What did you have to do?”) but also expressive language. The child’s response is recorded and played back. Superstar Directions are surprise questions that pop up at random times, but can easily be turned off if desired.

Nice app

This app is great for helping with receptive language skills...love the pictures.

No chocolate for dogs...
kudakat

This app was recommended to me by my sons OT. Just downloaded and began to test it out. The first direction was to give the dog something crunchy and chocolate. Dogs should NOT have chocolate. My son having special needs may try to do this in actual life. A "normal" child may try to do this as well, so far this is a bad example and that direction should be removed.

Best directions app!
Judd167

The best thing about worksheets in a digital manner! A variety of directions like pick the object above, under, or touch the red box ect. Excellent to use with any person who needs extra help with cognition, speech, and understanding simple tasks and directions.

I love how this app makes learning so much fun. It's great that you can move at your own pace. Following directions can be used so much in everyday life and this app helps teach how to follow directions using great pictures and sounds. I love the variety of pictures, too. Well done.

Fun App
Allybear5

A fun way to practice following directions. This version uses lots of engaging activities and colorful pictures to work on the concepts of "give" and "touch". I love how the pictures "come to life" when correct answers are chosen.

Nice Little App
Alutes

This is a great little app and I really like the use for directions. It is very easy to use and it will be a great tool in the classroom for kids that are beginning language development. Like the repetition that it offers. The graphics are entertaining and the voice is clear.

Great app to work on following directions
Occupational Therapist

This app uses colorful characters to engage the user in performing directions asked. It works on receptive language primarily, but also the user can grade them self on expressive language by using the 'superstar' repeat the directions back. I would like to see a few things added: set the number of opportunities, keep track of correct answers within those for the 3 programmed students, and perhaps a reporting feature to the therapists email. Lastly, a video or animated tutorial would also be a nice option to teach users how to use it. The app absolutely is beneficial as it is, but I would to see a few additional features in the future!
