It's Okay

Brendan..,,,..,.

This is probably one of the best C/C++ editors I've ever come across— but that still doesn't necessarily mean it's amazing. There is a lot of room for improvement, so here are my suggestions and complaints: •If I want to pull up a keyboard that actually contains letters, I have to open up an example and make my program there (I essentially had to make the HelloWorld example into a calculator) •I still don't know how to create a project •All those messages trying to persuade you into getting the premium version hamper the app's usefulness entirely •The tutorial is broken :/ I actually have a love-hate relationship with this app; on one hand, this app was did almost everything I was looking for in a C/C++ app, and on the hand, it bombards you with messages essentially saying "Are you sure you don't want to spend money to get these extra features that should have been there in the first place?" and it is a confusing app overall due to the lack of clarity (you might want to get the tutorial thing checked out— it isn't working properly, or maybe it's just my problem).

Increases Usefulness of iPad for Professional Work

This app is very useful to execute small, simple, custom programs on iOS. Compared to the other C/C++ apps, this one is the best. It doesn't require Internet; C language support is good; and the interface, while a bit buggy, is clutter free.

The C Compiler Best Option

apowers313

After trying this compiler and a number of others, I settled on this one for development for a 14 hour flight. It's not perfect -- it crashed a few times and didn't play well with a bluetooth keyboard -- but the others wouldn't compile valid ANSI C99 code which rendered them useless. I ended up creating a workflow of Coda for writing the code, and this app for compiling and running it. The error / warning highlighting in this app was especially useful. I would buy this app again, and after figuring out its strengths and weaknesses I'm very happy with it.

great!

Mahmoodthr

it is a great app for coding... thank you...

It's Okay

The interface is rough to work with.

Questionable sales tactic

flyindon

The app worked well enough, so when there was a sale - $4.99 instead of $7.99 if purchased before January 5th, I purchased the Premium version on January 4th. When I got my bill from Apple, it was for $7.99! Obviously, I complained to Apple and they refunded the $7.99. Now I don't have the premium version nor the option to get Premium for the $4.99 price. Makes me wonder if there ever was a "sale". Perhaps the developer was hoping no one would check their bill???

Very buggy, crashes

PolkRB

Typed in 20 lines of code on a software keyboard and program crashed. It doesn't save any progress. Lost all the code and have to retype again. Interface of the app is not very user-friendly. Unfortunately this app is one of the few on the App Store and we don't have much choice but to continue using it. :(

Good App, Could use some work

wisecrack343

Overall I like the app for its main purpose. However, at the moment, when trying to report bugs or offer feedback, the app crashes. This generally seems like the worst point you want your app to crash at. Also, when using a Bluetooth keyboard, the onscreen keyboard disappears but you can still only see the part of the screen that was visible while the keyboard is up, which partially defeats the purpose of having the external keyboard. Again, overall great app, just a few bugs to work out.

Just what I was looking for

This app runs some reasonably complex C++ code. It does everything I need to learn more C++ on my iPad and it does it well.

Good, and bad.

So, I'm just learning to code in C++ and this app is amazing. I can easily work on my code while I'm taking breaks at work. And though this app is really good. It has its problems. 1) The restraints on being able to run your program if you don't have premium. 2) The bombardment of messages asking you to buy premium. 3) When I'm writing, the code will jump around a lot. It takes a second for the app to realize what I'm typing, and for some reason, the spot I'm typing at(The cursor? I guess) will jump from one part of the code to another. I ended up paying for the premium, because I really like this app, and I wanted to be able to test my code as many times as I like. I had trouble trying to figure out how to start my own project at first, but I then found out you have to tap on "More" at the top right of the app, and then hit projects, and then create project. I love the app, but I almost can't stand the way the screen jumps around on me. And at 7.99 for premium. I don't know if I would recommend it.
