This board game involves luck and factors into the outcome, strategy still plays an important role in the long run. Not only in the board, now it's available for you to play on iPad!
Rules:
There are many variants for backgammon, such as hypergammon,nackgammon,acey-deucey, gul bara and tapa, but they almost share the same basic rule.
In this game, players alternate turns, rolling two dice at the beginning of each turn. A checker may land on any point that is unoccupied or is occupied only by a player's own checkers, may also land on a point occupied by exactly one opposing checker. When all of a player's checkers are in that player's home board, that player may start removing them. The one who first finishes removing all his checkers is the winner.

Animations are sloppy and gameplay is not smooth. Don't waist your time with this app.

Works fine if you have another player, but if you play against the system, don't expect much of a challenge.

Graphics are lovely. The "hard" mode is too easy. The computer makes appalling choices making it impossible to lose. The sound of moving pips is more of a sword swish than a pip moving. And it's missing the doubling cube.

Graphics are beautiful!!! However, there are so many things wrong w/this game. No doubling cube, way too easy to win...no competition at all! Roll button is in an awkward place, you should be able to move a continuous move instead of tap touching for each dice roll. I thought if I liked the free app, I would pay to download the full version because I love backgammon so much, well I'm glag to have sampled the goods 1st...not worth the download . Sorry guys!

This would be a great game if it would only connect and get other players on the internet. Perhaps it does connect to some database, but if it does, then nobody wants to play this game? It says when you attempt to get an Internet opponent to play against that the wait time is longer than 2 minutes? What's the value in that, not like telling you there are 3 calls ahead of you. I've waited 10 minutes and it continues to search? There is currently an update out that deletes something and they claim it was from a lot of folks requesting this, yet a lot of reviews have been complaining about Internet competition not being there. If they don't read their reviews, I find it hard to believe they respond to comments requesting a change.
