Great Game!

The is one of the best, maybe THE BEST, turn based strategy games for iOS. If anyone knows of any similar games that as this good, or close, I’d like to know what the games are. The one thing I’d like to see is more missions. I’ve played all the missions. I may do them all again in the difficult mode. They are challenging enough in normal mode.

Great App

Excellent combination of strategic and tactical play. One of my favorites. Best played on an iPad, but a good companion on the iPhone, as well. Do not miss if you are an old Avalon Hill or SPI student.

Black screen

Why does the saved game come up as a black screen and your game is lost???

Paid, downloaded & instaled, the darn app

It doesn't even work!!!

Today I purchased Assault Commander Ultimate and Armament 2028 but I'm PISSED OFF Because neither app seems to even work! I was already hesitant due to the rather high sticker price but now I just feel cheated! I'm using these on my 2nd generation iPod touch running firmware version 4.2.1 (8C148). The problem is fairly similar in both apps. I'm unable to even take control of nor move any units. Obviously this is all VERY frustrating, considering I paid a total of $4.00 for these two apps and am unable to even use either one. It's not like either apps graphics or computing power is enough to strain even my older 2G's capabilities. So, please fix this ASAP or I will simply contact Apple for a full refund.

Do not buy

Would love to give it 5 stars but ...

I am a very big fan of these types of war games. In the old days we were called grognards ... LOL ... It's a great turn based war game with the cardboard chits replaced with simple royalty free graphic icons. Nothing fancy about the graphics but they work ok … Infantry is infantry and armor is armor and plane is plane ... Here are some of the reasons why it's NOT 5 stars ... No instructions on units characteristics or capabilities. Those of us that have played this type of game before can figure out most of this but newbies will have a problem. Add some simple units screens. Might just help sales … Nudge nudge wink wink ... The touch interface is troublesome at times and needs a few tweaks. You touch and it scrolls, you want to scroll and it moves a unit. Bad, very bad sometime. I have played a lot of games and scenarios and I swear that at times the enemy units play by a different set of rules. I have seen units shoot twice, something no friendly unit can do. I have see artillery move and shoot in the same turn, again something a friendly unit cannot do … Give me units screens or at least tell folks that the enemy units have better capabilities. Some of the unit icons dim after use but some do not seem to change. Not a big problem but a pain in the butt. And for my biggest reason … Give me a speed up button … There is no animation so why make me sit and watch 2 unit health bars go down when they engage (fight) tic tic tic one at a time … How tough can the math be LOL … Total waste of time and makes the games last at least twice as long as they should. At least for me. These guys have been doing this some time now … And they have my money already as I even bought all the power ups available. Thus I have bought everything you have for sale … So I do like the game … Its just not 5 stars … As for the "undo" button … You give 5 save slots so no real need for undo unless you need to undo every turn … Ouch. Bottomline … Well worth the price of admission … Buy often and hope they read these reviews and update the app. Robert9001

A wonderful little wargame.

I'be not experienced any AI cheating nor any strange unit behaviors. I wish it had some descriptions of what the unit numbers mean, but after finishing the game I now know what they mean. I wish there was a 1 level move undo since it is not unusual to tap a unit to see where it moves and then tap somewhere else to re-center the map, only to move the selected unit to somewhere you didn't intend. I wish there was a mobile repair/medic unit for far-from-home unit healing. Not sure why enemy aircraft occupy hexes such that land units can't travel thru the hex. That would be a good option, perhaps giving the aircraft a free shot at the units attempting to pass thru. All in all, a great game worthy of improvements. I like hexes, units gain experience, ranged attack, air land and sea battles. I wish there were more maps.

Armament Rules!!

Ok the game itself is just awesome, hours upon hours game play, and if you think your not being challenged try hard, DARE you. The team behind it is an awesome crew who have developed a game that is unbelievably replayable. Will heed one warning though, if your like me you will lose track of time as some matches take 2-3 hours of strategic placement of your troops. The new vehicles add so much dimension to this title. My hats off to you guys well done!

Originally I gave this five stars...

...I love the Assault Commander games, which this is made in the same mold. However, once I made it to the higher level, the game crashes as soon as I open it. I've asked the developers about an update to fix the problem (I asked many weeks ago) ...they have yet to even offer a response. I'll give the five stars back when the game is actually playable.
